Day 3: BABY LOVE

Definitely one of the better French gay films of the year. And it's on 35mm print! I was definitely hoping for a much bigger audience but there have been great reactions and feedback from the people who were in attendance. It's definitely a comedy with enough interesting drama and complications that the French do best. What did you think? Better yet, did you see the movie? If not, you sure missed a good one!

  2. Unfortunately, this film screened at the same time as Night Flyers so I had to miss it. I hope it will come to DVD.

  3. I loved this film. It instantly draws you in and holds your attention throughout the movie. There were few slow or fast spots, and the jumps that occur in the time-line were done in an elegant and simple way. I also loved the ending, which sets it apart from many French films I've seen in the past.

  4. I love a comment I heard from a pass holder: "Baby Love? Ah that's the French comedy, right? I actually really enjoyed that one. But it got overshadowed by all the hoopla that followed that night."

I LOVED this film. I feel sad that this is not the kind of movie that fills the theater. It was a good story -- funny, poignant, lots of sad and happy moments. It was nice to see the cliche "that the moment I laid eyes on my child I fell in love again." Very sweet.

    I would carry Manu's baby.

I think this requires a uterus and not just a lovely basket.

Like the sort of fairy tale telling Zele how she came to have two dads who love her so much.

Love this movie. Inspired story! Sometimes funny. Sometimes emotional. Wonderful ending.

I'm so happy that the movie has English subtitles as I'm deaf. Hope to have more English subtitles in American movies in the near future.

Romantic fantasy - at least it recognizes the reality that it is not easy to be a surrogate mother. It acknowledges the problematics for the woman.

I think one of our deaf patrons used the ballot to order from the concession stand. =)
