I personally wasn't too thrilled with STRIPED PAJAMAS. It seems very contrived and you could see the ending from a mile away. I also couldn't get past the characters speaking with an English accent. In the end, I didn't know what the film is trying to say. That during the holocaust, sometimes the wrong people get sent to the gas chambers? Well, duh! But I enjoyed the finely acted THE READER immensely. I guess I'll have to see VALKYRIE this weekend.Michael Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09931525938685115641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-206982122096688658.post-85264742767897617202009-01-07T22:32:00.000-05:002009-01-07T22:32:00.000-05:00I don't know exactly when Tom Cruise starring in a...I don't know exactly when Tom Cruise starring in a film ceased to be a draw for me, but I have to say, I liked this film, and I was very nervous going in that I would not enjoy it. It was a story I was not familiar with before seeing the movie, and I feel for the most part, it was successfully brought to life on screen, although I haven't decided whether it was because or in spite of Mr. Cruise. However, in the recent flood of WWII/Nazi-themed films, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" was far superior.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-206982122096688658.post-20713705106360060442008-12-15T16:08:00.000-05:002008-12-15T16:08:00.000-05:00When did all the Tom Cruise hatred begin?
