I love this movie! It was a blast to see this with a packed house in Toronto earlier this year. Anyone who has been to movies with me over this week has heard me rave about Drool. I hope Rochester has just as much fun with this screening!
This was one of the best "road trip" films I've seen. It really sucks you in, and gets you excited about things that either don't really happen, or happen off camera, then throws you a twist into the unexpected. This puts Little Ms. Sunshine to shame, and shows just how good this genre of movie can actually be when done right.
OMG I really loved Drool. It also had me thinking of Little Miss Sunshine, but crossed with a campy John Waters palette. Documentaries aside, this was my favorite feature-length film of the festival (well, so far). I can't wait to see it again when it comes out on DVD. Oh, and as a reformed Mary Kay lady myself, the Kathy K satire had me in stitches. Fab!
Ballot comment: It's good. A little silly at times but we need movies like that. And it even had cute guys in it! And we all know that Little Pete is gay!

ReplyDeleteI liked this film. I thought it was a good "wicked comedy" kind of like desperate housewives...a little bit.

ReplyDeleteFarce - what has Spain in CHEF'S SPECIAL got that we cannot find in American screenwriters?
The audience's nervous tolerance of these comic book films is probably the most scary.
