As our way of saying goodbye to actress Brittany Murphy, who died last Dec. 20 at age 32, I'm posting these images from her little-seen-but-super-fab 2006 film, Love and Other Disasters. Matthew Rhys (TV's Brothers & Sisters) co-stars in this romantic comedy gem that ImageOut presented as a special screening back in 2008. And here's a link to some of the film's memorable quotes (trust me, you'd find more in the movie!) to remind you of how truly funny it is. If you haven't seen it yet, rent it now!

Oh, this blog is just begging for a comment from me! I was saddened to learn of Brittany Murphy's death last week. It was a shock at such a young age.
In the articles I read about her filmography, which wasn't really that long, LOVE AND OTHER DISASTERS
was never mentioned, because it's such a little known movie. I was fortunate to see it years ago at the Toronto Film Festival, and then waited seemingly forever for it to make an appearance somewhere!
Michael dutifully made it his mission to get a copy to show here in Rochester, so those who bothered could see it. It's one of those films that confuses because it's so good and so entertaining and so cute, that all you can wonder is...
"how do so many absolutely crappy movies get released every week, and yet this movie never saw the light of day"? I found a copy of it on DVD in Toronto and immediately snatched it up. As Michael said, it's available to rent, and I also highly recommend it. It was fun to read the quotes from the movie that Michael linked for us. Brittany was a talented young lady...and LOVE AND OTHER DISASTERS is worth your time, in my opinion. She wasn't the busiest of actresses onscreen lately, but I read she was one of the voices on King of the Hill on TV, which I have never seen.
