Sadly, (?) The attendance for this film was rather low. Given the topic and nature of the program, I was surprised to see the Community Partner was "Easter Seals" and not Mocha Center. I realized why they probably didn't partner with it near the end of the movie though.
The film's message was quite good, and hit a few really nice fist-clenching moments. Unfortunately, in the last 10 to 15 minutes the film slid from being a gritty real life view of racism, homophobia, and philosophy into a magical wonder land of ponies and ice cream.
I didn't like the ending, at all, with the exception being the path taken by "the manager". It would have been better to have stopped the movie after the emotional climax than to end it they way it was done.
This had lots of potential, a strong message, and a strong, believable delivery (minus the ending). All in all, a good movie, but the ending makes it hard to suggest to others, and really kills any chance it has as reaching the audiences it should.
