Circumstance

The crowd at the Dryden tonight seemed to really enjoy CIRCUMSTANCE, a beautiful and sensual drama set in Iran. Will it have a shot at winning the Audience Award this year? Only time will tell!

Oh my god what a stunning movie!
And where can we get the soundtrack the music in that film was fantastic.

I really liked seeing the life of an upper middle class Iranian family, how superficially similar it is to our American way of life, yet never quiet escaping from the oppressive presence of the morality police and the totalitarian theocratic state.

The story is terribly depressing, and the filmmakers did a great job conveying the desperation of people suffocated by the Iranian system. The last images leave some hope, but I couldn't escape the sense of tragedy of these peoples' circumstance.

From the ballots:
A queer movie representing a non-western perspective is wonderful!

Awesome movie, sad ending. Hard to deal. In my mind Shireen left with Atefah.
