Join us tonight for the opening festivities of the 11th annual ImageArt gallery exhibition!

Opening reception 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Poetry Reading 8:00 p.m.
Visual Studies Workshop, 31 Prince Street

ImageArt, the fine arts and poetry program of ImageOut, opens on Friday, October 1 as a citywide “First Friday” event. This is the 11th year ImageArt is providing a juried forum for regionally- based LGBT artists and poets, and the second year Visual Studies Workshop will be our host.

For the first time, the gallery exhibition and poetry reading will be on the same night, celebrated with a public reception from 6:00 - 10:00pm.

ImageArt Gallery exhibition is juried by regional art professionals and offers three $200 Fine Art awards. One artist will be awarded an opportunity for a one-person exhibition at the Gallery at Equal=Grounds.

ImageArt Poetry is an open-mic reading that will begin at 8:00pm in the Visual Studies Workshop auditorium. One “Audience Choice” award of $200 will be given. A juried selection of poetry will be published in the ImageArt catalogue.

New this year to ImageArt is “Wish You Were Queer,” a fundraising post card art exhibition. Artwork in postcard format is displayed anonymously (the signature will only be on the back) and offered for sale at $10 a pop on a first-come, first-serve basis. The artists’ names will be revealed only after purchase. All proceeds from the sale of cards will benefit the programming of ImageOut/ImageArt.
