From the ballots:
Excellent except for some technical difficulties.

The didn't address exactly what these people (in the film) are -- straight with gender expression? Gay? Trans? Made me confused. Neither? Both?

Good though. Informative.

This film reinforces my favorite thing about the Festival - visions and insights from other cultures. TWO SPIRITS moved and inspired as it informed.

The short beautifully presenting transitioning, permitting one to "feel" the complexity of the experience.

From the ballots:
TWO SPIRITS - very important as part of the LGBT spectrum. The two spirits as a source of wisdom in society.

EVERYDAY TO STAY - excellent! Keep following this couple.

Michael's comment:
In case you missed it, there were actually two couples in the short film. =)

Excellent films!
Show the short first -- it fits better that way. Thank you for having a Native American film. Please have more from other nations too!

Michael's response:
The short should have shown first. Sometimes, working with tech crews from the schools aren't the greatest thing. @&$%*# And I wasn't at the screening or I would have restarted the whole thing.

We try to bring as much diversity to our film lineup. But in the end, it is the quality of the movies that we preview that determines the final selection. So hopefully we'll keep getting GOOD films from very diverse backgrounds.

A great tribute to Two Spirits - a wonderful, touching, and provocative film.

Short might have been better shown first.

TWO SPIRITS - something everyone should see!

Michael's response:
That might just happen as PBS picked it up for it's 2011 TV schedule.

Excellent. Want to see more NA films.

From the ballots:
Both films had great stories.

The one thing I'd score down for EVERYDAY would be technical film aspects.

From the ballots:
Primal people had a much clearer idea of human identity than we do in today's dominant culture. TWO SPIRITS really drove that point home for me.

I admired the genuine introspection in EVERYDAY TO STAY.

From the ballots:
I really enjoyed TWO SPIRITS b/c it's interesting to learn about the traditional ways in which gender was viewed. Four basic genders!

Short was good b/c Chase mentions the struggles even after transitioning.

IN EVERYDAY TO STAY, he still seems unhappy and hasn't been able to find himself through such drastic changes.

I love learning about the culture of the Navajo Indians and their acceptance of Gender Identity - Sexual Orientation. And EVERYDAY TO STAY I could really relate to Chase about his views on being Trans.

From the ballots:
Wanted to learn a bit more in depth about the Navajo concept of Two Spirits.

Liked the compare/contrast of man expressing a feminine side and a woman transitioning to the masculine gender.

Short film -- a little hard to follow. Videography was distracting.
