Program 6: BearCity
We have more amazing guests for Day 2. Join stars Brian Keane and Gregory Gunter as we present a funny and romantic film set in the bear community. Imagine Sex and the City with hairy chests (harness, optional!) and definitely a very different diet. BearCity will show you that being a bear is just a state of mind.

I was honestly not expecting to like this film, and went mainly because I had a pass and my friends all wanted to see it. This was far from the typical bear movie, and really showed some prominent topics, and a real sense of what the bear community can be like, pulling no punches.
I'm also ecstatic that we had the director there, and that there will be a kind-of sequel for this movie. I look forward to seeing that at a future ImageOut event!
Woody, unfortunately, the director wasn't there as Doug was in the UK for another film festival. But I thought stars, Greg Gunter and Brian Keane, represented the film really well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It was nice to see the bear community depicted on screen at all, as few films have. There just aren't that many.
It was funny and sweet. The actors looked like they were having fun and my friends and I also enjoyed the eye candy! Looking forward to the next one.
Well, OK.
I thought that some of the sex stuff was kind of borderline porn. But...whatever. I'm glad people enjoyed it.
My favorite parts were when the young dude is doing the fit thing naked and his mate walks in on him, and when the 2 guys go try on all these outfits.
And all the relationship stuff was great.
From the ballots:
This is a very enjoyable film. The actors have great chemistry. I'm already looking forward to the sequel!
From the ballots:
Loved the movie! Story was completely engaging, dialogue was funny and the characters were entertaining.
It was difficult to hear the characters because the music dominated several scenes. Maybe it could be adjusted for future screenings?
From the ballots:
Humor, fun, some great lines.
From the ballots:
Lovely -- more intimacy than I've seen in most films. Loved the kissing!
Great comedy and intro to Bear culture!
From the ballots:
Bears, cute, funny, Bears.
The relationship between Tyler and Roger was a little superficial and overwhelmed by the other two relationships in there. But still very cute.
From the ballots:
Some great sequences -- Ty and Simon trying on clothes, Uncle Mel, and some great laugh lines.
From the ballots:
I loved the story. Someone actualy showed the truth about how us bears interact and love each other. A lot of the lines are things my husband and I have actually said to each other.
From the ballots:
So very funny haha
From the ballots:
Please make sure to include great bear movies in future festivals like this one.
From the ballots:
Excellent film. Very sweet and funny. Top ten.
From the ballots:
Made me laugh and cry.
From the ballots:
Amazingly funny and charming, albeit predictable. Nicely acted with some truly touching moments. Had some really wonderful story lines especially Michael's surgery story line and the open relationship story line. Would have liked to have seen more of the conflict with Michael and the surgery.
From the ballots:
Cute story and well put together.
From the ballots:
Beary Good!
From the ballots:
Woof woof. A fun and furry romantic comedy. My new favorite genre. Bears are so much more interesting!
From the ballots:
Very good. No masterpiece but sexy and entertaining.
From the ballots:
Fun, fun, fun. I fell in love with three different characters.
From the ballots:
Great film. Loved meeting the cast afterwards.
From the ballots:
BRAVO!
From the ballots:
Sound was very erratic.
From the ballots:
The Q&A was a lot of fun.
From the ballots:
There were some parts I didn't care for like the sleazy sex in the bars. But there were other parts that I loved like workout in the nude.
From the ballots:
Some cute scenes but I thought the script was weak, the acting ok. A little contrived.
From the ballots:
A little mushy I thought and no matter what people's tastes are -- being overweight shouldn't be encouraged for health reasons.
From the ballots:
Fun but no insight into the big difference between bears and growing up gay. A cub bear film about adolescent bears would be even better fun.
From the ballots:
Very funny but I still had a hard time hearing.
