L-Word Series Finale (Spoiler Warning!)

And you thought we only watched movies...

Well, it's finally over. The show that for six years we either loved, or loved to hate, has come to an end. Or has it? We don't know for sure who killed Jenny Schecter, but take solace in one thing: Jennifer Beals, Laurel Holloman, Leisha Hailey, Pan Grier, Erin Daniels, Kate Moenning, Rachel Shelley, Daniela Sea, and co. portrayed some of the hottest queers ever to hit the small screen. Maybe they will reunite on the big screen too?

Personally, I thought the last mini-season left much to be desired. Don't get me wrong, I was hooked on the series from the start and did not miss a single episode, but I am still lesbo-processing the last 8 weeks.

Things I loved: Alice, Tasha and Jamie's "Push-It" number, Kit being seduced by a straight drag queen, Elizabeth Berkley...

Things I am still up in the air about: Tom leaving Max pregnant and confused, Shane+Jenny, Elizabeth Berkely...

How about you? Who do YOU think killed Jenny? Will we find out in the Sho.com "Interrogation Tapes" series? And speaking of those; what did you think of the first "Tina Tape"?

Let's keep this conversation going until Investigator Xena fingers the perp!

I, too, have not missed an episode and loved the show, even with the sometimes very odd storylines. I'm looking forward to the rest of the interrogation tapes. Tina's revelation of her "first" was disturbing.

What I loved....Tasha's laugh....Alice, always love Alice....Max's joy at feeling the baby kick....Kit finding a new man....Bette and Tina's sex scene....Shane finding the jacket, note, and the negatives....Bette and Tina moving to NY....

Who/what I've missed as the years passed.
....DANA DANA DANA!
....Mangus....Billy Blakey....Howie....Shane's little brother....Marina and Jenny as a couple....Dana and Alice as a couple....oh, and did I mention DANA!

So, we say goodbye to The "L" Word...friends we loyally spent time with each week for 6 years. Maybe that movie will be made...unless someone steals the negatives....

I wish I could contribute more to this discussion but I have just started watching Season 1 on DVD. Sacrilege, I know! But I didn't want to get Showtime so I missed out on the whole thing. I'll catch up soon and maybe share your frustrations and your guilty pleasures.

Oh I missed Dana so much after she was gone. She was my second favorite after Alice. I am not sure today's interrogation tape made me think any more positively about the web series.

How long are they going to continue? Will each character get more than one episode? This week's raised as many questions as it answered!

I hope you enjoy the series. There's been a lot of talk about how the characters don't represent lesbians. I disagree. My core group of friends are quite similar in appearance, loyalty, friendship, time spent together, etc.

I'm really looking forward to the new series Ilene Chaiken is putting together. I think it's titled "The Farm", with Leisha Hailey (Alice). We'll see!

Jessica, I'm not sure how long the interrogation tapes will last. I wish they were longer. My understanding from what I've read/heard is the tapes are once a week, with a new character each time, and then that's it. I was shocked to hear Shane burnt her business down. I never thought it was the girlfriend character she was seeing at the time, but I'm quite surprised at the revelation. So far, both tapes have had me asking, "What!?" after watching.

Can't wait for next week!

I am just not seeing the point of these tapes. Is it just to keep us remembering the series until the spin-off comes out?

It was fun to learn what Helena did with the money this week though...

Yes, but I also think they're trying to answer some questions that weren't addressed during the season. What'd you think of the part in Helena's interrogation when the lady cop kind of comes on to her? Do you think she WAS making a play, or just trying to get more info out of Helena?

I was trying to sort that out too. It seemed too unprofessional for the investigator to be hitting on Helena right in front of her police partner so I am going to have to go with trying to get more out of Helena. It clearly was going to work. That's Helena's weakness!
