I enjoyed this documentary during the screening process and even more on the "big screen" with an audience. Her music is beautiful, and her comments on feminism and how we treat our families and history were heartfelt and moving. Now we need to get her to perform in Rochester....

I'm a big Ferron fan, so it would have been hard for me not to like this film -- but I really liked it a LOT. I loved hearing the musicians in her band talk about the music, loved listening to the songs. The interviews felt intimate. Ferron is able to be engaging and welcoming while really remaining very private. I feel like I know her and like I don't know her at all. I loved the piano player's comments about the gentleness and silence in her music.

Fantastic, moving powerful. I didn't grow up with Ferron, had no clue of her other than she was a lesbian performer so this was very good

DRAG KING EXTRAVAGANZA was too long and drawn out.

Ballot comment from Mara P.:
Great! Only thing is that the description spoke a lot about activism? I felt like that was not as prevalent as expected.

Ballot comment from Christopher R.:
I had never heard of Ferron before initially watching the screener (although her music seems familiar). Her writing, singing, and esp her observations on feminism and disregard for family and history made this film great. So glad we programmed this - now we need to get her here.

I'm so happy that you presented a film about Ferron. She is my favorite singer-songwriter. I wish it could gain exposure to a more mainstream audience.

The community partner was the best ever!

Short was TOO long - would've been just as effective if edited more.

Knew nothing about Ferron - what a sheer joy! Love her music, lyrics - she is so real. Loved it!!!
