Anything You Want

Today's lineup comes to a dramatic close with Anything You Want at 9pm in Little Theater 1.

Anything You Want helps further the ongoing (and challenging) conversation – just what exactly constitutes an LGBT film? As much about identity and personal exploration as it is about love and sacrifice, this film will leave you anything but speechless.

What a great way to show what transgendered people go through without the usual societal viewpoint.

The only flaw was in the translation-- otherwise, outstanding! A well-acted, moving film.

The performance by the little girl is stunning.

Of course it's a "gay film." It has a gay character in it.

The best film of this year's festival. What a tremendous film! And I have never seen such a fantastic child actress in a long time. Very rare treat.

The gay old man saved the day! Gender bending is clearly good therapy.

From the ballots:
Loved this film. The gender issues were dealt with in an adult manner. Top five in the festival.

This is our favorite for the festival. There's not enough space to write all the good things that can be said.

I really liked this one, but wouldn't place it as the top one so far. Definitely a movie that could easily be shown in straight indie theaters though.

I definitely see why it took off in Spain, and feel it could do equally well in most Spanish speaking cultures. The translation was off a little at times, but not too bad, so works well for English market too.

Everyone has their own opinion as to what constitutes a "gay film." For me, if it features a g,l,b or t character, it qualifies.

It looks that this film has a bit of "mixed reviews" (but aren't all ImageOut screenings like that? :) ) but tends to lean on the "excellent" side. So, good.

I would also like to add that to me ImageOut is first and foremost a film festival. Going in with that perspective, I can have a fairly broad view as to what qualifys as a gay film. But like I said, we're all different...
